What is Boxercise?
Boxercise is an exercise class based on the training concepts boxers use to keep fit. It combines boxing and exercise with great fun, and is a stress busting activity to suit everyone who wants to enjoy boxing training without getting hit. A typical class will involve the use of boxing gloves to hit pads in a variety of ways, shadow boxing, kneeing and kicking pads, press ups, Burpees, sit-ups and the use of step boxes to add an element of circuit training.
It merges the use of both aerobic and anaerobic energy systems in a manner that not only ensures a diverse workout, but also enhances sports specific senses, including hand eye coordination, balance and timing.
Who can Boxercise?
All Boxercise classes are aimed at men and women of all ages and fitness standards. No class involves the physical hitting of an opponent. It is a fun and challenging workout and is ideal for beginners who want to kick start their fitness. It is also ideally suited for people wanting a full body workout.
What equipment do i need for Boxercise?
All you will need is comfortable workout clothes, training shoes, sweat towel and a bottle of water. Regulars find it beneficial to bring their own boxing gloves and pads but this is not essential as some are provided for any attendees of the class.
